Shmuel practices corporate law with an emphasis on corporate transactions, financing and tax planning in the life sciences and biotech industries.
Prior to joining Torys, Shmuel completed a clerkship at the Tax Court of Canada.
In law school, Shmuel worked as a summer law student at Questrade Inc., where he researched new securities regulations affecting the industry and assisted in-house legal counsel with various legal matters. He also worked as a research assistant for Dr. Laverne Jacobs and as a teacher’s assistant for the Income Tax course at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law.
Shmuel received the Equity and Diversity Committee Recognition Award from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. In 2021, Shmuel was on the winning team of the Gerald J. Rip Moot Court competition.
