In law school, Julie was selected for the Gerald W. Schwartz Summer Research Fellowship, where she conducted privacy law research and supported the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association in developing systems to facilitate lawful access to communications metadata.

Julie also helped to run her law school’s mooting program as a member of the Moot Court Committee. She mooted in the University of Toronto Grand Moot and the Gale Cup Moot, where she earned the Second Place Factum award and advanced to the final round.

Julie was a clinic student at the International Human Rights Program (IHRP) and was Co-Editor-in-Chief of the IHRP’s publication, Rights Review.

Julie is a member of the Advocates’ Society.
